In October, 2024 the Harwich Affordable Housing Trust selected an organization through the Request for Proposal (RFP) process to work with in starting a rental assistance program to Harwich residents, people who work in Harwich, or have children in the Monomoy school district. The Resource Inc. (TRI) is accepting applications for a Housing Rehabilitation Program that serves year round residents of Truro, Harwich, Eastham, and Provincetown. Homeowners can receive up to $50,000 in the form of a deferred, forgivable, zero0interest loan for health and safety repairs to their home. This includes roofing, siding, windows & doors, lead paint abatement, heating & septic systems, and more.
Habitat for Humanity builds Affordable homes for homeownership opportunities. They average 10 projects a year all over the Cape.
MassHousing provides down payment assistance up to $30,000 to first time homebuyers who qualify for MassHousing Mortgage Loan
This program is run through Housing Assistance Corporation with the purpose of assisting property owners with the creation of year round rentals. This includes technical assistance with determining feasibility of an ADU on their property as well as financial incentive.
